Let me share a little about how this site came to be.

I have spent a lifetime obsessed with discovering how to encapsulate emotion using any medium available to me. Historically these pursuits were most often cautiously tucked away, accessible only to those in my closest circles. Presently, as the manager of a jiu jitsu academy, producing art in a variety of forms has become an enormously public-facing aspect of my life. I must now wear a multitude of different hats beyond administration - design, content creation, photography, videography, social media, marketing and advertising.

My expansion from student, into management, to then traveling abroad for combat photography, came unexpectedly but also (to my surprise) with great joy and renewed purpose. Jiu jitsu has shown me both as student and creative that despite how often we make islands of ourselves - we are intimately connected, whether we wish to be or not.

This ongoing reminder drives my desire to capture the moments we markedly hold up a mirror for each other. To see the human experience of ourselves in another.
